POSITION SUMMARY: The Speech Therapist is responsible for providing evaluation and treatment upon physician referral to a patient population consisting of varying diagnosis. The Speech Therapist will assess, identify and treat all areas of deficits impacting communication, cognition and swallowing. The Speech Therapist provides instruction and education to the patient/caregiver to promote the safe execution of the facilitatory techniques taught. The Speech Therapist supports and contributes to the service excellence mission of Enloe Medical Center and the HomeCare and Hospice Services Departments. These services further the mission of Enloe Medical Center, which is to provide high quality, cost effective healthcare for the people in the communities we serve. EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE: Minimum: One year experience in acute care, extended care, rehabilitation, mental health or out patient setting. LICENSE / CERTIFICATION: Minimum: Current Speech Pathologist license from the State of California Board of Medical Quality Assurance Current Certificate of Clinical Competency by the American Speech, language, Hearing Association Current CPR certification. Current California Driver’s License Eligible to be insured under the Medical Center’s Liability Policy with DMV Report (and minimum age 21) SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES: Must demonstrate technical competence, professional clinical judgment, communication skills and sensitivity for the patient and family. Clinical skills and knowledge to successfully achieve desired outcomes in assigned patients. Ability to provide treatment to address the practical and realistic needs and goals of the patient.
