GENERAL SUMMARY: The Speech-Language Pathologist/STEP is responsible to the Speech-Language Pathologist WTL and/or Department Leader. He/she works in a self-directed work team committed to a common purpose and goal. The Speech-Language Pathologist/STEP works within the scope of Speech-Language Pathology. He/she is responsible to practice within their scope of licensure in accordance with approved policies, procedures and protocols. The Speech-Language Pathologist/STEP contributes to positive outcomes and meets the cultural expectations of the organization by exhibiting professional behavior. He/she shares responsibility for all aspects of therapy and team functions. Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Preferred: None
• Required: Working knowledge of basic computer skills. Demonstration of effective problem solving, decision-making, interpersonal, and team work skills. Use of effective verbal and written communication skills. Demonstration of time management and organizational skills. Successful completion of mandatory requirements, including department proficiencies/competencies.

• Required: Graduate of Masters prepared program for Speech-Language Pathology.

• Preferred: 1 year acute care experience.

• Required: Current license as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Florida and a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
